英汉对照弘扬《论语》

　　1988年，75位诺贝尔奖金获得者在巴黎宣言：“人类要在21世纪生存下去，必须回首2500年前，从孔子那里寻找智慧。”
　　最近，由孔子中国画院院长、曲阜市旅游品行会会长、金龙阁经理张锡洋策划、设计，曲阜师范大学李天辰教授翻译，美国学者John Harris Kirkley校对，中华书局出版发行的汉英对照、古典线装、横式编排的《论语》面向海内外出版发行，受到了世界各地学者的青睐。
　　《论语》是孔子生前与弟子答问的语言和孔子言行的记录，是儒家学派最经典的著作。孔子被列为世界古代十大思想家之首。孔子创立的儒家学说，历经2500余年长盛不衰，对中国乃至世界影响深远。《论语》内容涉及到教学、政治、文化、仁义、道德、礼乐、中庸等10卷20篇512条。具有中国传统文化重要内容的儒家思想，其哲理深奥，蕴含着人类思想中一些普遍性、特殊性等各种因素，大能治国，小能治家，如“道之以政，齐之以刑，民免而无耻；道之以德，齐之以礼，有耻且格”。《论语》是孔子思想最集中的反映，也是中国传统文化和思想的合作，被历代封建王朝奉为治国的圭臬，来巩固自己统治的地位，有“半部《论语》治天下”之说。《论语》有着它独特的治理国家之道，发展经济之道，社会管理之道和人伦道之道。因此，孔子的学说被推崇为东方文明的象征，特别是日本、韩国、美国、法国、德国的许多人崇拜孔子，信仰孔子。目前，世界许多学者对于《论语》的学习和研究盛行，希望从中得到启示，以便解决人类面临的一些政治、文化、经济发展和伦理问题。
　　为弘扬中华民族优秀传统文化，便于海内外人士学习研究《论语》，总策划张锡洋花费了两年多的时间，广泛征求海内外儒学研究专家意见，收集了大量相关文字和图画资料，策划了这套独特的《论语》版本，使之服务于整个人类社会。该书的出版发行，将对促进世界和平和政治、文化、经济及思想领域的交流与发展起到积极的推动作用。
　　该书配有明代版《孔子圣迹图》。广陵古籍刻印社采用活字传统工艺在米宣上印制，封皮、封套以蓝色提花真丝绫精裱，分上、下册，盒式套封函装，典雅厚重，图文并茂，装订古朴考究，是中国首创英汉对照古典线装横排编排格式。
　　
　　Recently, the publication of Chinese-English The Analects, a thread-bound edition printed in horizontal arrangement, which is planned and designed by Zhang Xiyang, the president of Confucian Institution of Chinese Paintings, Chairman of Qufu Tourism Products Association, and Manager of Jinglong Pavilion, translated by Professor Li Tianchen from Qufu Teachers’ University, polished by Dr. John Harris Kirkley from the Unites States of America, published and issued by Chung Hwa Book Co., has found favor in the eyes of scholars all over the world.
　　The Analects is the most classical works that collects Confucius’ dialogues with his disciples and his owns words. The Confucianism created by him, lasting more than 2500 years in the Chinese history, has exerted great influence on the China and even the world, and nowadays, it is still very influential worldwide. The contents of The Analects involve teaching, politics, culture, humanity and justice, morality, rites and music, and doctrine of he mean. Compiled in parts, 20 chapters and 51 sections, The Analects covers the important contents of the traditional Chinese Confucianism thought. The deep philosophy hidden in it reflects the universal and special factors of the human thinking, which in the macroscopic scope, can be applied to the administration of a country, and in the microscope, can be applied to manage a family as Confucius said: “If you govern the people legalistically and control them by punishment, they will avoid crime, but have no personal sense of shame. If you govern them by means of virtue and control them with propriety, they will gain their own sense of shame, and thus correct themselves.” The Analects is a concentration of Confucius’ thought as well as the crystallization of the traditional Chinese culture. For successive dynasties, it has been regarded as a classical book applied to administrating the country.
